Recycling art contest launched

The Calabasas Environmental Commission is taking entries for the annual environmentally themed drawing contest, "Benefits of Paper Recycling," open to students in elementary and middle schools.

Drawings must be handcreated on 8½-by-11-inch format in landscape (horizontal) orientation. Submissions are due by Nov. 3.

Thirteen winners will be chosen based on creativity and theme. The winning drawings will be printed in the 2009 city of Calabasas Community Recycling Awareness calendar.

The first winner's drawing will be printed on the calendar cover. All winners will receive a $25 gift certificate.
