Agoura Hills City Calendar
The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services has announced its upcoming events. For more information, call (818) 597-7361.
•Tennis classes will be offered beginning Oct. 8. Classes are held at Agoura High School, 28645 W. Driver Ave., and run for six weeks.
Beginning and advanced beginning youth classes for children ages 8 to 12 cost $50.
Beginning and advanced beginning teen classes for children ages 12 to 16 cost $50.
Classes of all skill levels for adults ages 17 and older cost $54.
Semiprivate and private lessons for all skill levels are available. Cost is $100.
•Swing, fox trot and cha cha instruction will be given beginning at noon on Sat., Nov. 1 at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd.
Swing and salsa will be taught from noon to 2 p.m. Swing, fox trot and cha cha combo will be taught from 2 to 4 p.m. Preregistration is required.

•The department's Fall 2008 Brochure is available at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center. Classes are available for parents and children ages 1 to 3, tots ages 3 to 5, youths ages 6 to 10, teens ages 11 to 17 and adults ages 17 and older.
Classes include dance, art, sports, cooking, fitness, fencing and foreign language.
•A Teen Extravaganza open to teens ages 11 to 15 will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Fri., Oct. 3 at the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center, 27040 Malibu Hills Road, Calabasas.
The event will feature a skate park, Guitar Hero III, disc jockey, karaoke, henna tattoos, and a raffle.
Admission is $12 and school I.D. is required. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
•A gentle yoga class for seniors is held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The program is geared toward adults age 50 and older and enhances health, vitality and flexibility. Students must bring a mat to class.
Cost for an eight-week course is $21 for once a week, $35 for twice a week and $45 for three times a week. Participants must be members of the Senior Recreation Program.
•A PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise) program is offered from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursdays at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd.
The program is geared toward adults age 50 and older with different types of rheumatic disease and is cosponsored by the Arthritis Foundation. The $10amonth class includes accommodations for individual limitations and does not encourage activities that might aggravate arthritis symptoms.
