Local Business Briefs Transwestern West announced it has closed a $2.29-million, sevenyear lease on a new national headquarters for the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association at 27001 Agoura Road in Calabasas, CA. The 10,700-square-foot lease is almost 3,000 feet bigger than the ALS's current Calabasas headquarters. The ALS Association is a leader in the fight to cure and treat ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Mid Valley Properties is the building's landlord. Job shadow businesses needed The Woodland Hills-Tarzana Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, in partnership with Junior Achievement, will offer a job shadow day from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 16. The chamber is looking for companies to act as shadow hosts. The experience is designed to expose students to careers and work environments, to see what a job entails, to observe and interact with business professionals and to recognize the link between skills they are learning at school and skills in the workplace. The morning will conclude with a Chamber luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Students and companies will receive certificates and other accolades. Cost is $35. Grill opens at Promenade The Grill on the Alley restaurant, a mainstay in Beverly Hills since 1984, opened at the Promenade shopping center in Thousand Oaks on Sept. 22. Modeled after the big city grills of the 1930s and 40s, The Grill offers a menu of prime steaks, chops, seafood and classic cocktails under the leadership of executive chef John Sola. The original Grill on the Alley has been featured as a location for several episodes of HBO's hit series "Entourage." The restuarant includes a private dining room and an outdoor patio seating area.
