Red Oak Elementary School fifth-grade teachers Marjorie Cohen and Erica White recently accepted a Constellation Award for the school's Mock Congressional Hearings.

The hearings were held at the Reagan Library and allowed students to study the constitution and testify before a panel of judges from the community.

Fourth-grade teacher Pennie Sullivan was recognized for her organization of Oak Park elementary school's Math and Science Olympiad, an all-day event each spring at which students and parent volunteers participate in math and science experiments and games.

Red Oak principal Jon Duim accepted a 21st Century Classrooms award in recognition of the school's use of interactive technology.

The Constellation Awards were presented at the Oak Park Unified School District's annual kickoff meeting to recognize outstanding programs within the school district.
