Distinct design styles spotlighted
      Hillcrest Christian School will host the Home and Garden Tour 2008 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Oct. 4. Guests will tour four homes in the Westlake Village and North Ranch area, each house decorated in a distinct style.

Red Oak awarded for excellence
      Red Oak Elementary School fifth-grade teachers Marjorie Cohen and Erica White recently accepted a Constellation Award for the school's Mock Congressional Hearings. The hearings were held at the Reagan Library and allowed students to study the constitution and testify before a panel of judges from the community.

Association presents funds to hire Oak Park science teacher
      Friends of Oak Park Schools presented a check for $103,000 to the Oak Park Unified School District at the Sept. 16 board meeting. Funds have been earmarked to hire part-time science specialist Debby West as a full-time science specialist/naturalist.
