A new home for lost puppy

Critter Tail

Freckles Freckles The emaciated puppy sat shivering and whimpering on the sidewalk of a busy a section of town. Traffic roared past, brakes screeched and horns blared.

My daughter, Denise, a fourth-grade teacher, was driving to work and saw the helpless animal. She knew that if she didn't immediately carry the puppy into her car, it would certainly be killed in traffic.

When Denise approached the puppy, it growled and snarled and tried to jump away. With a gentle touch, she wrapped her jacket around him and placed him on the back seat.

After my daughter arrived at school, the principal agreed to keep the dog in her office while Denise taught class. After school, one of the office staff said she fell in love with the little dog and would love to give it a home. Her two young daughters were thrilled when they heard the news. They named the puppy Freckles. Denise took Freckles to the vet for the much needed medical care it deserved. It is now living with a wonderful family. I am so proud that my daughter made this possible.
