      To commemorate the life of their infant son Jason, who died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) when he was 4 months old, Katie and Andy Lutz will host Jason's Race, an October benefit to raise funds and awareness about the syndrome.

Hospice is a philosophy, or place, that offers a program of palliative care (relief of symptoms but not a cure for the disease) and other emotional, spiritual and social support for the families and patients facing a limited life expectancy.

Las Vegas night fundraiser on Oct. 5
      A "Las Vegas Cool" fundraiser to benefit Hospice of the Conejo will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sun., Oct. 5 at Moorpark Country Club, 11800 Championship Drive. Proceeds will help Hospice of the Conejo provide programs that give comfort and dignity to those with a life-threatening illness.
