American Girl Day coming to The Lakes

American Girl Day will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 27 at The Lakes in Thousand Oaks.

The family friendly event, co-hosted by Pardee Homes and American Girl, will feature the Kit's Home on Abbott Place playhouse, part of the Project Playhouse HomeAid fundraiser.

Madison Davenport, who played Ruthie in "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl," will make a guest appearance from 1 to 2 p.m.

The event will also include tours of the playhouse village, American Girl crafts, giveaways, a Kit Kittredge doll drawing and a gift for everyone purchasing a $2 admission ticket to the village.

Proceeds will benefit HomeAid's housing development program in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Visitors can register to win Kit's playhouse in the opportunity drawing. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five. Purchase of five tickets includes a scoop of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
