Kiwanis look for tourney sponsorships

A limited number of sponsorships are available for the second annual Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament, a fundraiser for the Kiwanis of Thousand Oaks Foundation. The event will be Sun., Nov. 9 at Borderline Bar & Grill, 99 Rolling Oaks Drive in Thousand Oaks. Sponsorships vary from $2,500 to $200, and each level gets benefits and rewards.

Registration and poker lessons begin at 4 p.m. The poker tournament begins at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m. Early registration is $35, otherwise it's $45 at the door. The buy-in cost for poker is $150, which gets the participant $10,000 in poker chip "play dough." Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers. To register, go to www.tokiwanis.org.

Proceeds from the tournament and auction will help youth organizations and other worthy causes that are supported by the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks.
