TUSK-ALOOSA—Mike Targon of Calabasas helps a pachyderm friend pack his trunk at Vision Quest Ranch in Salinas, Calif. Newly retired, Mike spent some time getting to know the exotic animals. BALANCING ACT—Stan and Linda Organ of Westlake Village make a big splash near Ketchikan, Alaska. The pilot landed the aircraft in a glacial lake and the Organs are standing on one of the plane's pontoons.  GRACE NOTES—The Calabasas All Star Jazz Band travels to New Orleans to help renovate a home destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The band also played at various venues, including the steamboat Natches RUST RULES—Kevin and Michael Gordon of Oak Park ponder the techniques of defensive driving at "Carhenge" in Alliance, Neb.
