WENDY PIERRO/Acorn Newspapers BREAK ON THROUGH—Viewpoint tailback Josh Masser finds a running lane during the Patriots' 36-0 win over Ribet Academy. Camarillo (0-1) at Agoura (0-1)

Outlook: With both teams dropping their season openers last weekend—Ventura came back to beat Agoura 27-21 and Newbury Park upended Camarillo 14-7— this matchup takes on some added significance.

Moving the ball on Camarillo might not be an easy task for the Chargers, who put up 271 yards of total offense against Ventura.

In Week 1, the Scorpions gave up only 77 yards through the air but were torched for 205 rushing yards by Newbury Park.

On Friday night, Agoura quarterback Justin Arias, as well as running backs Sam Bradley and Justin Cudworth, must try and expose this apparent weakness in Camarillo's rush defense.

Hueneme (0-1) at Calabasas (0-1)

Outlook: In search of the program's first home victory since 2002, the Calabasas Coyotes will take on a Hueneme team that was shut out by Santa Clara in its opener, 28-0. Hueneme managed only 63 yards of offense in defeat.

Not that the Coyotes were much better in their first game of the season. Calabasas spotted El Camino Real a 21-0 first-quarter lead before losing 28-7.

Still, CHS head coach Lance Martin remains optimistic that his team is headed in the right direction after playing El Camino Real tough for the final three quarters despite losing starting quarterback Kyle Zion to an ankle injury.

If Zion can't go Friday, junior David Sandler will start.
