Stage Door's call to arms In response to one letter which stated, "Does anyone care?" regarding the Stage Door Theatre's closure, the answer is an absolute "yes." Obviously many people love Mike and Gale, who contribute so much to our community. This woman Salerno's concern seems to be money, which is funny because I can't imagine how anyone else is going to quickly turn a profit or be able to make that theater more successful than Mike and Gale. I foresee the new renters having a very difficult time. My question to the community is this, what can we do? Let's do a petition to show community support, or a fundraiser and pay forward their rent, or let's just buy the building for them. Salerno must have no idea what she is ruining here and if she does, then let's do something to change her mind. This is America—let's rise to the occasion and fight. I bet there are some amazing retired people that could head this effort. I am willing to help, but I have a young son so I can't head it up. We lost the batting cage. Let's not lose Mike and Gale's Stage Door too. There is time. Let's act. This is simply one woman being difficult who won't renew their lease. Lisa LaFrance-Fergesen Agoura Hills |
