Help care for local park land

Santa Monica National Recreation Area will celebrate National Public Lands Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Sept. 27 at Peter Strauss Ranch, 30000 Mulholland Hwy., Agoura Hills.

At the event, volunteers can assist with a variety of activities to help improve the park such as fence installation, trail repair, brush clearance or general landscape maintenance.

Some tasks may not be suitable for children ages 12 or younger.

Attendees are encouraged to wear a hat, gloves and sunscreen. Water and snacks will be provided.
