Supervisor hosts 'slow growth' dinner

Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks is hosting the fourth dinner event in the quarterly Slow Growth Dinner series at 7 p.m. Wed., Oct. 1 at Tuscany Restaurant, 968 S. Westlake Blvd., Ste. 4, Westlake Village.

H. David Nahai, general manager of the Department of Water and Power for the city of Los Angeles, will discuss the demands of the state's water at a time of shirking supply. He will present how the state-wide drought began and ways to handle the problem.

He has served for more than a decade on the state's Regional Water Quality Control Board, which safeguards the quality of surface, ground and coastal waters for residents in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. In his current position he is respoinsible for developing polices on promoting renewable energy.

The cost of the dinner is $35 per person. The public is invited, but reservations are required by calling (805) 3732564 or emailing Linda.Parks@ventura.org. The event is expected to sell out.
