Addis chooses Oak Park

Addis Educational Services, which has been tutoring local students for just over two years, opened a new office in Oak Park.

The offices at 346 North Kanan Road provide a space where students can take small group SAT preparation classes.

The Grill fired up to be in Westlake

The Grill on the Alley will serve classic American fare when it opens Mon., Sept. 22 in The Promenade in Westlake Village. Modeled after the big city grills of the 1930s and '40s, the Grill on the Alley will offer steaks, chops, seafood and classic cocktails.

The original Grill on the Alley opened its doors in 1984 in Beverly Hills. It became a hit because it established a reputation for freshness, quality ingredients and consistency.

A comprehensive yet moderately priced wine list will highlight boutique wineries that put Napa and Sonoma on the map.

•A Chamber of Commerce Luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 25 at Calabasas Country Club, 4515 Park Entrada.

Guest speaker Donald Zimring, superintendent of the Las Virgenes Unified School District, will discuss the state of education in California.

Cost is $35 for nonmembers, $30 for members.

Assistance offered

Chapter 8 Restaurant and Lounge in Agoura Hills will host a reception for the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce from 5 to 8 p.m. Wed., Sept. 24 at 29020 Agoura Road.

The Chamber will present information and speakers on the Agoura Hills business assistance program, which includes business loans, seminars on marketing and the use of land use attorneys.
