Theater was given the boot

The time has come for some clarification. The Acorn's Aug. 21 article announcing the closing of the Stage Door Theatre quotes Diane Salerno as saying "I felt they haven't dealt with me in good faith" and goes on the say that "Salerno claims that Monteleone and Trumbeaux were the ones who scuttled the deal."

In The Acorn's Sept. 4 issue there is a letter to the editor followed by the editor's note "the current tenants are being asked to vacate due to a rental dispute."

There is no "dispute." We were never given a chance to continue after 28 years. In our Aug. 12 letter to Ms. Salerno we wrote "as we have previously stated, we would like to have the opportunity to match any offer you may have re: a lease agreement."

In Salerno's Aug. 15 reply she states "I do not wish to engage in a new lease with you and would like to move forward with my own plans for the property."
