Temple prepares for High Holidays

David Zasloff David Zasloff Temple Beth Haverim will present three sessions on "The month of Elul: Beginning our spiritual preparation for the High Holy Days" at the synagogue, 29900 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills.

The program precedes Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and the Ten Days of Repentance.

The community is invited and there is no charge to attend.

•The first session will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tues., Sept. 16.

•The second session, Selihot, will be from 9 p.m. to midnight Sat, Sept. 20. This event includes a community welcome and reception.

Special guest David Zasloff, a virtuoso musician, will play the shofar (ram's horn).

Following Zasloff's program will be the introspective Selihot service. Cantor Kenny Ellis and the Adult Choir under the direction of Eileen Weiser will present the music of the High Holy Day Season.

Rabbi Gershon Weissman will interpret the liturgy.

•The final session, which includes a bagel brunch, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Sun., Sept. 21.
