CSUN Hillel to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur

Rabbi Jonathan Klein will lead High Holiday services at Cal State Northridge Hillel, 17729 Plummer St., Northridge. Students and community members are invited.

The schedule follows:

•Rosh Hashanah candle lighting and evening service at 6 p.m. Mon., Sept. 29 with community Oneg and student dinner to follow.

•Rosh Hashanah morning service at 10 a.m. Tues., Sept. 30 with community Kiddush to follow.

•Yom Kippur candle lighting and Kol Nidre at 5:45 p.m. Wed., Oct. 8.

•Yom Kippur morning service at 10:30 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 9.

•Yizkor (memorial) service at 4:30 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 9. Services end with the sounding of the shofar at sundown, followed by a light break-the-fast meal at 7:04 p.m.

The cost is free for students and $125 for community members for all services. The student Rosh Hashanah dinner is $10.

All tickets must be purchased in advance. Admission cards are required for entry.
