Malibu Golf Tournament

The Malibu Chamber of Commerce and honorary chair Cheech Marin invite the community to the 16th annual Malibu Golf Tournament on Mon., Sept. 16 at Malibu Country Club, 901 Encinal Canyon Road.

The tournament will feature celebrity host Glen Campbell, lunch on the green, dinner and a live auction.

Sponsorships are available, and donations to be auctioned are needed.

Taste of California

Women's Resource Center will hold A Taste of California at 6:15 Sat., Sept. 13 at Malibou Lake Mountain Club, 29033 Lake Vista Drive, Agoura Hills.

The fundraiservwill include live jazz music, art and samples of food from California, such as wine, cheese and chocolate.

Ranch volunteers

The Cold Creek Docents are seeking adults to lead nature field trip programs at UCLA Stunt Ranch Reserve in Calabasas for the 2008-09 school year.

Volunteers will be trained to lead trail hikes and activities that focus on chaparral ecology, early local Native American culture, geology and watershed programs.

Seven Monday morning training classes will be given, covering topics such as plant and animal history, Chumash and Tongva Native American history, how watersheds work and interpretation.
