The Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. tomorrow, Fri., Sept. 5, at the Los Robles Greens Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. The breakfast will include information about the Chamber's SchooltoCareer program; participants will hear from students and business representatives who have benefited by being involved. The event is presented by the Las Virgenes and Conejo Valley Unified School Districts, the Chamber's Education Committee, the Chamber's SchooltoCareer and Regional Occupational programs, and Fidelity Investments. The goal of the education programs is to create opportunities for students to see the relevancy of their education and apply it to the world of work and careers. Prepaid reservations are $18.50 for chamber members and $23.50 for nonmembers and are due by 2 p.m. today, Thurs., Sept. 4. Atthedoor registration begins at 6:45 a.m. and costs $27. VICA names new president The Valley Industry and Commerce Association has named Stuart Waldman as its new president and CEO effective Sept. 8. Waldman brings 11 years of legislative experience to the position, representing the San Fernando Valley as a staff member for the California Assembly. He served as chief of staff to two Assembly members, including Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg. Before joining VICA, Waldman worked as a substitute teacher for grades K-12 at Valley private and charter schools. He has a law degree from Loyola Law School and a bachelor's degree in political science from Cal State Northridge. Waldman also served in the U.S. Army. Brendan Huffman took the VICA helm in 2006. Huffman will remain with the organization as a consultant through the transition. Beach club finds new location Malibu Beach Club will be opening its new and larger store tomorrow, Fri., Sept. 5 in the Malibu Canyon Plaza Center, 26500 W. Agoura Road, Ste. 116, Calabasas. The Malibu location has closed. The store carries yoga wear, weekend wear, shoes, accessories and lingerie brands such as Cosabella and Hanky Panky. Woodland Hills exec resigns The Woodland Hills-Tarzana Chamber of Commerce announced that Tinalyn Firestone resigned her position as the Chamber's executive director on Aug. 25.
