Rescued dogs need new homes

      Dogs rescued from an alleged canine hoarder are available for adoption at several Los Angeles County Animal Control facilities, including the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter. According to media reports, Cindy Bernis has been arrested numerous times on charges of animal neglect and abuse.

      Cynthia Binder, DVM, has joined the staff at Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital. Binder graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1993 and has been practicing in Ventura County for the past 15 years.

Doodle dogs romp for charity
      The Southern California seventh annual doodle romp and picnic is scheduled at 1 p.m. Sat., Sept. 6 at a private setting in the Malibu mountains. Owners of Labradoodles and Goldendoodles and their dogs are invited. The event includes buffet picnic, food, wine, music, competitions, raffles, auctions, vendors and dog photographer.

Cats need foster homes
      Southern California Siamese Rescue, a nonprofit corporation, is seeking foster homes for abandoned and rescued Siamese cats. Foster families provide a spare room, food, litter and care. Any resident cats in the foster home should be indoor only and negative for feline HIV and feline leukemia. The rescue agency will pay for approved medical costs.
