Farewell to the Stage Door
I am heartsick about the closing of The Stage Door Theatre. I'm sure Ms. Salerno is well intended. I just wish she had a better understanding of our community. People here love (theater owners) Mike and Gale. Many individuals could set up a new, slick theatre; the Stage Door became a family, home to actor and audience alike. You'll never see another like it.

Theater just won't be the same
Regarding the Stage Door Theatre closing, it is a rarity to meet people who pour their heart and soul into a venture not just because they love it but because they wish to give back to their community as well.

Bumpy ride through the neighborhood
Just a few comments with regard to previous letters about speed bumps in residential areas. I don't live in Calabasas, but we also have and need speed bumps in Agoura too.If drivers, teens and adults alike, would abide by the posted speed warnings, those speed bumps would not have to be there.

Signage code enforcement
On Aug. 16 about 7:45 a.m. a code enforcement officer for the city of Calabasas driving his own personal car pulled up in front of my house and proceeded to write a warning for a car because it had magnetic signs advertising the business where the owner of the car works.

Ticket to ride
After reading the three complaints regarding the Kanan interchange and traffic signal, I would like to inform the residents about the parking violation agent patrolling the Park and Ride located at the interchange. My wife's car was ticketed at the Park and Ride for, of all things, having a clear Plexiglas cover over the front license plate.

Freeway access causing headaches
Response to "Interchange could use better signage," Aug. 21. While the writer makes some good points in support of those who are unfamiliar with the area, he fails to recognize the fact that most of the people causing the dangerous problems he cites are residents of the area.

Support for local schools needed
I'd like to take a moment to draw some attention to our amazing school system, programs, teachers, staff, and the people who raise the funds to make it all happen. I am a mother of two children in Oak Park. My 9-year-old daughter Dahlia has enjoyed attending Red Oak Elementary school for the past four years and will be starting fourth grade.

School freeloaders
"Why buy the cow when you can get the milk through the fence?" is one of my favorite quotes from Elvis Presley. To paraphrase that question, "Why move to Oak Park when you can get an Oak Park education for free?" The district has made transferring here so easy that for every 100 Oak Park kids, we now have 25 kids from outside Oak Park.

Traffic woes
The new traffic control device at Kanan Road and the 101 Freeway isn't the only problem with the traffic conditions in our city and surrounding areas. Congestion is increased by the inane ways the city has chosen to synchronize the various signals in our city.
