Rabbi Wolpe will discuss his new book

University Women will host a lecture by Rabbi David Wolpe, spiritual leader of Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, at 9:30 a.m. Tues., Sept. 9 at American Jewish University, 15600 Mulholland Drive, Bel Air.

Wolpe will speak on "Why Faith Matters," the title of his new book due out this fall, which is based on his own personal journey and in response to the rising popularity of new atheists.

Considered a leader of the Conservative Jewish movement, Wolpe has been named the No. 1 pulpit rabbi in America by Newsweek. He is the winner of the Rackower award for Jewish Journalism and The Wellness Community's Human Spirit Award.

Wolpe is the author of seven books and writes for many publications, including New York Jewish Week, the Jerusalem Post and Los Angeles Times.

He teaches modern Jewish religious thought at UCLA.

Tickets are $15, which includes a continental breakfast.
