Oak Park Community Center seeking teens for council

Middle, high school students wanted

The Oak Park Community Center, which is part of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, is seeking interested people to serve on the Oak Park Teen Council for a oneyear term ending June 30, 2009.

The Teen Council consists of seven and to 11 Oak Park teens entering grades seven to 12 in the fall. One representative is selected from each grade level, and the remaining members are representatives at large.

All representatives must be Oak Park residents or be enrolled in an Oak Park School. Attention is given to ensure that all middle and high schools in Oak Park have representation on the council.

Members typically do not serve for more than two years.

The Teen Council will meet one to two times per month beginning in September and will assist the recreation coordinators with planning teen programs.

Applications may be obtained at Medea Creek Middle School, Oak Park High School, Oak View School, Independent School, Oak Park Library, the Oak Park Community Center or downloaded from the website: www.rsrpd.org.

Applications must be submitted to the Oak Park Recreation Center no later than 5 p.m. Wed., Sept. 17.
