Shaman is guest speaker
      The Center for Spiritual Living will host Maria Bobadilla, also known as Machi Maria, an indigenous shaman, on Sun., Aug. 24 at the center, 800 Hampshire Road, Ste. V, Westlake Village. Bobadilla will speak at the 10 a.m. morning service and also conduct a workshop on "Energy Medicine, the Shamanic Way" from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Hindu temple honors revered leader
      Acclaimed Indo-American leader Rajan Zed was honored by the Malibu Hindu Temple in Calabasas on Aug. 9 for his service to the Hindu and Indo-American community and his contributions to interfaith dialogue. Temple president Nadadur Varadan presented Zed with a shawl and a fruit basket and applauded his various achievements.

      The Conejo Hebrew High, a supplementary foreign language school in Agoura Hills, received its independent accreditation from the Western Association of School and Colleges in July.
