Jerry Lewis telethon asks for helpers

The Muscular Dystrophy Association's 43rd Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon will broadcast live on KCAL 9 in Los Angeles from 6 p.m. Sun., Aug. 31 to 6 p.m. Mon., Sept. 1.

The association is seeking telethon volunteers from civic and community service organizations.

Mailroom volunteers and positions answering phones and taking pledges are needed.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to answer phones and must have a friendly personality and desire to help.
