Auditions being held for dance company in Westlake

The Academy of Dance Competition Company will host its annual audition on Fri. Aug. 22 at 5700 Corsa Ave., Ste. 106, Westlake Village.

Following are the audition times:

•4 to 5 p.m. ages 6 to 9, ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, production jazz.

•5 to 6 p.m. ages 9 and up, hip-hop company.

•6 to 7 p.m. ages 9 and up, ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, production jazz.

Dancers may audition for one or more companies as long as they meet the age requirement.

Dancers should wear appropriate clothing and dance shoes. Street clothes and shoes will not be allowed. Long hair should be secured in a bun.

The company provides opportunities to compete in the solo, duet and trio categories. Dancers will travel to regional and national competitions and attend professional dance conventions.

The academy offers tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and production companies for dancers ages 6 to 21 who are interested in one or all dance styles.
