Weston Benshoof taken over

The Alston and Bird law firm of Atlanta announced it will enter the Los Angeles market by taking over Weston Benshoof, an 83-lawyer firm with offices in Westlake Village.

Weston Benshoof specializes in environmental and land use law, which will complement Alston & Bird's own energy infrastructure and sustainability practice, officials for the firm said.

Weston Benshoof brings to Alston & Bird a strong track record in construction, real estate and water resources law.

The Westlake firm will become part of Alston & Bird on Sept. 1, creating a combined team of almost 1,000 attorneys.
