UCSB names Regents Scholars
      UC Santa Barbara has named 35 high school graduates and college transfer students as Regents Scholars, the highest honor awarded to incoming students at the university. Recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and exceptional promise.

Colleges prepare for emergencies
