Mr. Wilcox, I will not stand idly by and listen to you berate the Oak Park school district and judge permit students as "freeloaders" and "spongers." We are proud of this area and the school system provided for us.

Now that your own children have enjoyed the benefits of the Oak Park school district and you no longer have any need for the schools, might I suggest that you relocate to a new community and allow one of those so-called "spongers" the opportunity to move into our highly desirable, distinguished school district.

Like it or not, this is a desired community defined by its schools. And the schools need our help. Therefore, if you are not willing to help, you are welcome to leave. We will be just fine without you. Wickham Irwin Oak Park
