A dangerous sign of summer

SNAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL—During the summer months, rattlesnakes are more likely to come out from hiding and explore residential areas. This 34-inch long diamondback rattlesnake was seen on the front porch of Stuart and June Tom's home in Calabasas on July 26. The snake was easily agitated and flexed side-to-side in a striking position. The couple said the snake was killed due to the numerous small pets and children in the neighborhood. The snake was found in the vicinity of Calabasas Lake.
