At The Library

The Agoura Hills Library entertains a full lineup for August. All programs and events will be at the library, 29901 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills. For more information, call (818) 889-2278.

•Library Fine-Free Week will be Mon. to Sun., Aug. 11 to 17. The Agoura Hills Library and all county of Los Angeles library branches will accept all overdue library materials without incurring fines during the week.

Patrons who have already returned their library materials but have unpaid fines on record can receive a 50 percent reduction on fines owed if paid in full during the week.

•Students entering grades six through 12 may write reviews on any middle school or adult book to be entered to win a $100 gift card from Best Buy.

Prizes will be given for every review.

Reviews may be delivered to the library or e-mailed to agourahillslibrary@yahoo.com.

The drawing will be held on Sat., Aug. 23.

•A Movies and Smoothies teen summer reading program will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 19. Teens can read the book, watch the movie and snack on free smoothies and popcorn.

Gift card drawings will be held.

Movies will be "Freaky Friday" on Aug. 12 and "Howl's Moving Castle" on Aug. 19.

•A program for teens ages 12 to 18 will be held Sat., Aug. 23.

Metamorphosis at Your Library will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants will be allowed to decorate a T-shirt with iron-on transfers and decorations.

Also, a Halo 3 tournament will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Parental permission is required.

•The library's used book store, the Book Cellar, is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items available include books for adults and children, books on tape, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes and magazines.

•The Friends of the Library display case features art by Roni Cohen, an Israeli artist who resides in California. The exhibit includes oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, collages, etchings and silk screens.
