Sheriff's Blotter Agoura Hills A new Lifetime Elite 52-inch portable basketball hoop was taken on or about the weekend of July 19 from the cul-de-sac at the end of Buttonwood Avenue in Oak Park. According to the owner, a sign was placed on the hoop stating "Free, please take," possibly creating a cover story for the theft. A neighbor reportedly saw the sign the day before the hoop was stolen Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call (818) 879-0970. A thief stole a $1,000 laptop computer, a personal music player, a digital photo camera and a cellphone, all together worth $300, from the bedroom of a home in the 23000 of Blue Bird Drive July 22. A person caused $2,500 in damages trying to steal the catalytic converter of a vehicle parked at the intersection of Canwood Street and Kanan Road July 22. A thief stole five music CDs from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 6100 block of Grey Rock Road July 21. Someone took a vehicle registration card from a car parked in the 29900 block of Forest Cove Lane July 21. The loss was $10. Calabasas A burglar stole two garage openers, an earthquake survival kit, folding camping chairs and a tea pot from a vehicle parked in the 22300 block of Dunmore Drive July 28. The loss was $240. A thief snatched a cellphone charger, ear piece and a bag containing earthquake preparedness items from a vehicle parked in the 22100 block of Dardene Street July 27. The loss was about $150. Someone stole a passenger side mirror valued at $100 from a vehicle parked in 4700 block of Commons Way July 23. A thief took a $5,000 flat screen television from the storage of a car dealership in the 24100 block of Calabasas Road July 12. Hidden Hills A burglar stole $200 in cash, a bird bath valued at $120 and a 30-gallon trash can worth $30 from a community pool area in the 5300 block of Round Meadow Road July 10. Oak Park A a 30-year-old man was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance at 3:30 p.m. July 22 in the 500 block of Kellwood Court. A male, 40, was charged with domestic battery after allegedly throwing a phone at someone around 5 p.m. July 22 in the 6400 block of Bayberry Street. Front-yard property was stolen on approximately July 20 in the 5200 block of Pesto Way.
