If you drive south on Kanan Road past Agoura Road, I'm sure you have seen the five mattresses someone dumped off the road approximately the second week of July. Now there are only four of them. If you have trash, there is a new and convenient place to dump it and apparently no one cares. More ... What great news to read in The Acorn that Mike Paule of Oak Park will run for the Triunfo Sanitation District (TSD) board in November's election. Mike was generous enough to volunteer his time for the Oak Park School District's new parcel tax that overwhelmingly passed in June. More ... Every day when Oak Park students line up for class, more than 600 students cut in line. These spongers live outside Oak Park and their parents have neither bought a home here nor paid taxes here. Were it not for the spongers, for every six classrooms and teachers, we'd need only five. More ... I applaud the recent school board work that has kept both our school counselors and our school librarians in our school budget for at least another year as we struggle with the recent budget crisis. More ... I am writing to express my frustration with the No Right Turn sign that appears at the intersection of the westbound Kanan Road freeway off ramp. For anyone who is not familiar with the current intersection design, two black square boxes were installed near the existing traffic lights. More ...
