Living Love Foundation exposes underprivileged children to art

Fundraiser will be held in Agoura

The Living Love Foundation is a nonprofit organization trying to improve the lives of underprivileged children by exposing them to art and giving them the tools to create and express themselves. The foundation is making a cross-country trip to raise awareness for its cause.

A fundraiser for the foundation will be in Agoura Hills from Aug. 1 through 4.

The organization believes exposure to the arts has a healing, redemptive effect that has the power to alter young lives.

"Every child needs to have access to the arts," says Emma Coufal, a Living Love Foundation spokesperson.

The inspiration behind the foundation is Betty Curry, a Ventura County resident and supporter of programs that benefit the health and well-being of children.

Transportation for the nationwide tour, which takes place in September, will be in a "veggiemobile," a refurbished bio-fuel vehicle that was donated to the foundation.

Children from Ventura and Oxnard are collecting rocks from the local beaches and painting them as their art projects. When the tour reaches Harlem, NY, the painted rocks will be used to decorate a solar-powered water fountain that the foundation is building.

The Agoura Hills activity includes a Living Love Foundation art auction and workshop on Aug. 2 and a golf outing on Aug. 4.
