Mac and Alice Stelle honored
      Alice C. Stelle and her husband, Macneil (Mac) Stelle, were honored on July 22 by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District's board of directors as "Citizens of the Month." The Stelles were the first people to receive the honor, part of the district's yearlong observation of its 50th anniversary, General Manager John Mundy said.

Oak Park resident keeps on giving
      Harvey Kern is 65 and retired, but his schedule as a volunteer keeps him busy like a full-time worker. Kern spends two days a week giving tours at Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks, one day a week at the Reyes Adobe museum in Agoura Hills and one day a week at the Adamson House in Malibu.

      With the hit musical "Mamma Mia" currently in movie theaters, one Westlake Village resident has decided to return to the Greek island where the film was made. This fall, screenwriter Chris Canaan will travel to Skopelos for a second time to teach a workshop to Greek acting students who want to learn about American film.

Westlake Junior Women's Club installs board, welcomes new members
      The Westlake Village Junior Women's Club recently welcomed 26 new members to the organization and introduced the incoming 2008-2009 board members. Outgoing co-presidents Leslie Adams and Candi James, who had held the position for two years, welcomed the new co-presidents, Roselle Wolfe and Roubina Coleman.
