Lisa Cronin, the only female coach in her twin sons' baseball league, has a lot to smile about. Not only did her team win the Westlake Baseball Association's World Series for the 7- and 8-year-old Pinto division, but the 12 players learned about compassion and camaraderie and that winning isn't everything. More ... With a 2-1 home win over the Fresno Fuego at Calabasas High on Sunday, the San Fernando Valley Quakes captured the United Soccer League's Premier Development Southwest Division championship. The division title is the first in the franchise's three-year history. More ... To raise money for better equipment and gear, the Oak Park High football team held a Liftathon in the school's gym on Monday night. According to head coach Dick Billingsley, the squad raised nearly $10,000 during the weightlifting fundraiser. More ...
