ROTC student earns scholarship
      Air Force ROTC Cadet Stephen A. Snelling has received an Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship for $15,000 per year of attendance at the University of Washington at Seattle. He is the son of Daniel and Shari Snelling of Thousand Oaks and a 2006 gradate of Oaks Christian High School.

      My wife hates my fan. It's a little white twospeed oscillating fan that helps keep me cool at night while I sleep. My little fan also saves energy by giving the air conditioner a rest, yet my wife can't stand the thing.

      The Southeast Ventura County YMCA has added three new members to its board of directors: Andrew Wright, Jim Carper and Risa Littman. Members serve three-year terms.
