Building association hosts green talk

The Building Industry Association Los Angeles Ventura County (BIA-LAV) Women's Council will present a "Building a Greener Tomorrow" seminar and luncheon at 11:30 p.m. Wed., Aug. 20 at the Woodland Hills Country Club, 21150 Dumetz Road, Woodland Hills.

The event will include a panel discussion featuring program manager for the conservation programs at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Lynn Lipinski, president and CEO of California Solar Rick White and BIA-LAV executive officer Holly Schroeder.

The luncheon will also include a drawing featuring prizes such as two guest passes to Hearst Castle, gift certificates to Morton's Steakhouse and a wine tasting for eight guests.

Cost is $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Reservations must be received before Sun., Aug. 10.

Proceeds from the event will help provide scholarships to members desiring to further their education in the building industry.
