Copyright law to be discussed

The Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Fri., Aug. 1 at the Los Robles Greens Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

The morning will feature guest speakers Glenn Dickinson and Jeff Lynch.

Dickinson is a trademark, copyright and Internet law attorney with Nordman Cormany Hair & Compton who represents clients involved in disputes over Internet domain names and website content. Lynch is president of Lynch Interactive, a fullservice web development company that includes e-commerce, search engine optimizing and marketing.

Prepaid reservations are due by 2 p.m. Thurs., July 31. Cost $18.50 for chamber members, $23.50 for nonmembers.

After the pre-pay deadline and at the door tickets are $27. Registration begins at 6:45 a.m.

Soccer star opens academy

Former three-time United State World Cup team member and soccer legend Eric Wynalda opened a full service, year round soccer academy in June in The Performance Zone at 5321 Sterling Center Drive, Westlake Village.

The academy offers classes to youths ages 3 to 16, specializing in enhancing the fundamentals of soccer.

Former veteran player and coach Joe Carver is the academy director.

Wynalda i s a native of Westlake Village.
