All-star soccer team wins big

RED HOT- The Red Rockets All Star Soccer team celebrates winning 13 tournaments this year. The Agoura Westlake U-12 Girls Red Rockets All Star Soccer Team won 13 tournaments this year with a win-loss-tie record of 66-4-1, including 50 shutouts.

The tournament season began with the Newbury Park Panther Shootout in November 2007 and ended in June at the Granada Hills North Valley Classic.

The shutouts were anchored by goalkeeper/mid-fielder Daniella Reda, sweepers Madison Ashton and Aubrey Guidetti, and defenders Whitney Hill, Rachel Deluca, Kinsey McLaughlin and Rachel Mach.

The Red Rockets defense permitted only 29 goals by opponents in 71 games.

Strikers Graelin Young, Madison Gebbia, and Katie Lonngren scored most of the 222 goals.

Team members come from Oak Park and Thousand Oaks.

The head coach is Jaime Ashton, with Mike Sherman and Dave Hill as assistant coaches.
