Viewpoint senior to attend music camp

Viewpoint School senior Alexandria Chu will be one of 32 teens nationwide to attend the Muzak Heart and Soul Foundation's annual Noise! summer camp.

The camp is a twoweek program that gives young musicians the opportunity to learn about the music industry from professionals.

Chu will receive a full scholarship to attend the camp, which will take place from Sun., July 13 through Fri., July 25 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

Students at the camp work with record label producers, artist managers, music critics, audio architects, choreographers and other music industry professionals. They will be given a look at the working environments of music industry representatives.

Noise! also helps each camper choose and research a specific career within the music industry. Campers will present their research and career plan at the camp's culmination.

Chu has played the violin for 10 years and tutors younger students in violin.
