Calabasas street repairs begin

By Joann Groff joann@theacorn.com

The annual Calabasas street overlay program has begun on various streets throughout the city. The resurfacing will take place from now until August.

Streets will be paved one travel lane at a time and traffic control will be provided. City officials say there will be limited access to private driveways on the days that actual paving occurs, although only for about two to four hours.

Grinding work will be performed prior to the paving, but street and driveway access won't be disturbed. No parking signs will be posted in order to notify residents to move their vehicles from the street into their driveways, officials said..

Streets scheduled for work include: Alizia Canyon Drive, Cairnloch Street, Carsamba Drive, Civic Center Way, Eddingham Avenue, Galiee Street, Kenrose Circle, Park Ora, Parkmor Road, Parkway Calabasas, Red Bluff Drive, Ruthwood Drive, Roymor Drive, Sparrow Dell Drive, Towhee Court and Veva Way.

The dates for grinding and paving were provided on a public notice distributed June 26 and 27. To receive a copy of the letter, contact SullyMiller Contracting at (800) 431-9842 or (714) 720-7453. The numbers may also be used to inquire about alternate parking and special accommodations.

The city is asking residents to disregard all previous notices about the work.
