Berner hired by Merrill Lynch

Merrill Lynch announced that financial adviser Gary Bernerhas joined the company's Westlake Villageoffice. Berner had been at theMerrill Lynch Woodland Hills office since joining the firm in 2004.

Berner has lived in the Conejo Valley since 1993. He has managed his daughter's teams for eight seasons in the WAGS softball league and coached his son's teams for three seasons in the Calabasas youth basketball league. Berner is an avid tennis player, having taught and coached at the collegiate level in New York, and is a longtime member of the Westlake Tennis and Swim Club.

He's been a certified financial planner since 1996.

Mercedes-Benz hosting mixer

The Calabasas MercedesBenz dealership will host a reception for the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce on Thurs., July 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Calabasas Mercedes-Benz is at Parkway Calabasas and the 101 Freeway.

The Chamber will welcome new general manager Bob Milner.

The special guest speaker will be Gary Klein, a member of the Calabasas Planning Commission and new president of the Calabasas Park Homeowners Association board, who will discuss city planning issues as they relate to businesses.

Chamber additions

The Woodland Hills-Tarzana Chamber of Commerce announced two additions to its staff.

Jen Svejda is the Chamber's new membership director, and Diana Williams is a member service representative.

Svejda has a background in sales and administration, Williams in the mortgage brokerage industry.
