Retired teachers invited to dinner

Retired educators and members of the public are invited to join the Ventura County Retired Teachers Scholarship Foundation and the Ventura County Division of the California Retired Teachers Association for the upcoming annual barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Wed., July 16 at the new Educational Services Center for the Ventura County Office of Education, 5100 Adolfo Road, Camarillo.

The event will include the recognition of the 2008 scholarship recipients and beginning teacher grantees.

Dr. Jim Cowan, retired Ventura County Superintendent of Schools, is the guest speaker. The cost is $15. Reservation deadline is Fri., July 11.
