     REPTILE RUMBLE- A king snake and a lizard get into a wrestling match outside the home of Calabasas City Councilmember Barry Groveman, who sent in this photo. The lizard bit the snake's tail, and the snake responded, teaching the lizard not to bite off more than he can chew.

Shelter needs volunteers
      The Humane Society of Ventura County is looking volunteers to help care for the animals at the shelter at 402 Bryant St., Ojai. This is recommended as a summer activity for children, especially for those who are considering adopting a pet. Children ages 10 to 18 must have parental approval to participate. No one under 10 can volunteer.
