Make your July 4th a brighter day
JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers Tomorrow, on Independence Day, local residents will be free to choose from a variety of parades, fireworks and other activities.
•The Westlake Village Junior Women's Club will present the 39th annual Westlake Village Community Fourth of July Parade starting at 10 a.m. Fri., July 4.
The parade will assemble at 9:45 a.m. at the Los Robles Urgent Care parking lot at the corner of Agoura and Lakeview Canyon roads in Westlake Village.
The parade will travel four blocks along Agoura Road to Bennett Park in the First Neighborhood. Free refreshments will be provided at the park.
Participants are encouraged to join the procession with decorated bicycles, strollers or wagons. Pets and motorized vehicles are not allowed.
There is no cost to participate and no registration is required.
•The city of Calabasas is offering a full day of activities, beginning with a fun run and pet show at Calabasas Lake in the morning, a summer splash party at the Tennis and Swim Center pool at mid-day, and a fireworks show at the high school in the evening.
