Woman's body found in Agoura

An investigation continues into the discovery of an 18yearold woman's body July 1 in a ravine off Lobo Canyon in rural Agoura, according to the homicide division of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department.

Lt. Dan Rosenberg said deputies from Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station were contacted Tuesday by a person who said they found the body of an adult Caucasian woman, "possibly deceased," at the south side of the canyon in a ravine.

Authorities said the woman is from Agoura Hills.

"There were no signs of trauma or foul play," Rosenberg said.

Based on the preliminary examination by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office and interviews with the young woman's friends, he said the woman appeared to be the victim of a "very tragic accidental death, probably involving drugs."

"At this point we don't believe a predator is out there committing vicious murders, (but) anything can change," Rosenberg said.

No car was found at the scene, he said.

"She may have been in a car earlier (that day). It's more than likely she was disposed of in that location."

Rosenberg said the name of the woman will be released pending contact with her family.
