Kids' baseball and softball teams claim top prize
     SOARING- The Cardinals, consisting of 7 and 8 year olds, went undefeated in the playoffs and became the 2008 Pinto National Champions for the Agoura Pony League. Youth sports teams on fire as hot summer arrives
     UNDEFEATED- The WAGS 14-U Thunder softball team won first place in the Simi Valley All-Star tournament this past weekend. They went undefeated in all five games of the tourney.       Veterans Memorial Stadium, on the campus of Buchanan High School in Clovis, will serve as the home for the CIF State Track and Field Championships for the next three years, 2009-2011, the CIF Executive Committee has announced.

Reitz returns to Chargers
      Dennis Reitz has landed his dream job. A 23-year resident of Agoura Hills who's seen all six of his children graduate from Agoura High, Reitz was named head coach of the Charger varsity baseball team last week, replacing Russ Stephans, who stepped down after two seasons at the helm but will remain the school's activities director.

Local youngster sprints into record books
      Grant Levesque, a 7yearold from Old Agoura, set a new record in the 200-meter sprint at the Western League Finals at College of the Canyons. Levesque's time of 33.04 seconds broke Jay Johnson's all-time best mark of 33.54, originally set in 1975.
