Triunfo YMCA offers swimming lessons

WATERPLAY- Young and old can learn to swim at the Triunfo YMCA this summer. Classes and private lessons take place at the Agoura High School pool. The Triunfo YMCA summer aquatics program offers courses for all ages, ability levels and interests. Classes are held at Agoura High School's pool, 28545 W. Driver Ave., Agoura Hills.

Programs include private swim lessons, group swim lessons, parenttot classes, swim teams and junior lifeguards.

Private swim lessons consist of four one-on-one sessions. Group lessons include eight sessions over a two-week period.

Children attending Triunfo YMCA day camps can participate in a swim lesson once a week for an additional $10.

In the junior lifeguards course, swimmers receive hands-on safety lessons in the pool and deck as well as classroom training based on the YMCA national lifeguard program.

The Triunfo Otters swim team will practice and compete this summer. All interested swimmers must try out and should be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle, 25 yards of backstroke and 25 yards of breaststroke.

The Otters will compete in swim meets with other local YMCAs and in the Ventura County Swim Conference League.
